That’s what Cynthia and Netta believed when they decided to start their business in 2017. A collaboration between two friends with a love for fashion and a passion to share their fashion sense with the rest of the world led to the genesis of STYLE ME ZAMBIA, a fashion business that has contributed innovatively to the Zambian fashion industry. The main area of Trade of the Style Me fashion brand is ladies apparel which ranges from formal to informal clothing as well as foot wear.
Cynthia and Netta were inspired to become part of the Zambian Fashion Industry because of their love for fashion. Their perception of the fashion industry is that it is very exciting! And it has a variety of roles to choose from due to its fantastic range of products. According to the dual, the most interesting thing about fashion is that you will always have the chance to do something new, something more creative and something totally different from others. The two friends sought to set up a business that allows their clients to shop in the comfort of their home or office by providing them with quality photographic content that show cases their products as they originally are, allow convenient purchase and delivery of products in the shortest period of time.
At style me Zambia the Brand-Client relationship is tailored to provide an intimate or rather personalized pre and post-sale service free of charge, simply put, consultation is free.
As a brand, SMZ chooses to remain unique as much as they like to move with the current trends in fashion. The brand owners also take time to research on how their clients can maintain different types of fabric to prolong the life span of the product. In addition, the brand strives to maintain a good and healthy relationships with their clients and chooses to use the most effective but affordable courier services for both local and international clients.
As is the case with most fashion brands in the country, Style Me Zambia has faced a challenge in gaining customers trust with regards to online shopping. This could be attributed to the fact that e-commerce is not at its optimum in Zambia. For this and other contributing factors, growing businesses like Style Me Zambia are finding it difficult to thrive to their full potential.
Dispite the above stated challenge, Cynthia and Netta plan to expand the brand by opening up stores in Lusaka, Copperbelt and Southern province. Their intention for growing their business is to also venture into other beauty products and expand the brand to other towns such as Ndola, Kitwe and Livingstone in order to reach out to non-online shoppers outside Lusaka. As their business continues to grow the two also intend to engage in social cooperate responsibility programs to give back to the community.
The founders of the brand had some advice for those starting up in the fashion industry.
“Always know that your dreams, visions, talents and ambitions are valid. The world needs more entrepreneurs and there is enough room in the fashion industry the key is to have a plan and a fighting spirit .God will bless the works of your hands, Deuteronomy 28:12.”
